What Ifs

I have to say that it feels strange to have to scroll longer before I get to my birth year. That’s when I get the cruel reminder that I am getting 1 year older. It seems, regardless of what age you reach, the uncertainties in life will never cease to end. So here I am writing a reminder to myself and to anyone else who is reading.

Some single folks will wonder when they will get married. Some married folks may be having problems in their marriage. Some folks who are getting older wonder if their kids who are working abroad will return to look after them, and if not, what will happen to them when their health take a turn for the worse. There is endless uncertainties,…what ifs….

So, remember Who your Anchor is.

Make a conscious decision to trust in Jesus, our Saviour and LORD. Nobody can decide that for you. It is between you and Him.

19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, 20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 6:19-20 (NLT)

In The Garden

I’m not sure about you but ever since I have to return to working on site at the office (although on alternate weeks), I think about my garden quite frequently. I usually wake up very early in the morning when it’s still dark and a former classmate once teased me about appearing like a thief wandering in the garden with the torchlight from my mobile phone. I frequently wondered how it was like when the first couple walked with the Lord in Eden.

2022 isn’t only the beginning of a new year. It’s also the start of my new role in another team at the company. The frequently uttered “Lord, save me…” prayer took a few years to show the results. Maybe it was already in progress but God was building my character, and getting the other side ready for me.

It’s not only a number added to 2021 but that number will also be added to our age. What are your plans for 2022? I’m almost too afraid to make plans because most of mine didn’t materialize due to multiple lockdowns. One thing I know is I plan to slow down and live. Another year older, another year closer to eternal life. (I’m not being morbid, but this world is just getting darker.)

Bible Verse

39 But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.
