Ashes to Ashes

Today was supposed to be an ordinary day. Monday blues, reports to send out and update etc… Little did I know that I was going to receive a message from one of my friends telling me of another friend’s passing. It’s so sudden. To many of us, it is a shock but I imagine his direct family members are feeling more than just shock. Having gone death in my family, I can feel their pain and I try not to say the wrong things like “I know how you feel”, “Everything will be all right”, “He’s not in pain anymore”. Sometimes even the best intention comes out the wrong way when wrongly spoken. If you’re wondering what to say, sometimes you don’t need to say too much – you can say “I’m praying for you”. Sometimes just being there to support them emotionally says a lot.

I’m still reeling. My heart grieves for his family but rejoices knowing that he’s making beautiful music in heaven.

Bible Verse

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;

    he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

Psalm 34:18 (NLT)
