I praise God for songwriters. I’m not sure about you but I personally find it easier to sing out a bible verse than speak it out. It’s easier to remember a song.
The hymn “To God Be The Glory” reminds me of a time in the past when my father and I attended a wedding held at a church. Both of us were unbelievers back then and didn’t really know what to do in a church wedding. That was likely his first visit to a church. I know it was my first time. This hymn was sung in church. Looking back, I was singing praises to God even before I embraced the Christian faith.
I would like to think that I found Him but I think the truth is He has been pursuing me from the very beginning.
9 Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9 NLT) I don't know about you but I am amazed when I think about God's love for us. Even after man had sinned, Adam went to hide because he was afraid, but the Lord pursued Adam. I'm sure that God being omniscient already knew that Adam had done wrong. If the question was directed to me and I was the one in the garden of Eden, I think it was more because He wanted me to realize what I had done and acknowledge that I had done wrong. I'm amazed that even after we disappoint Him time and again, He still pursues us. Is there any hymn that really touched your heart at a certain point in your life?
