What Are You Doing?

Time. Those who don’t have it, wish for more. Those who have too much time, end up wasting it. So, what exactly do we do with time?

Seventy years are given to us!

    Some even live to eighty.

But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble;

    soon they disappear, and we fly away.

Psalm 90:10 (NLT)

I’m almost 50 years old. If I use 80 as the max that I will reach, that actually leaves me more or less with 30 years left in my life. It’s a little scary as I don’t know how my physical body will age but it’s comforting to know that I will have about 30 years more to endure the things of the world. Why did I use the word ‘endure’? It’s difficult to see the wrong things in the world and knowing that things will never be right until our Lord’s return.

30 years. (30 x 365.4 which makes 10,962 days) But most of the hours per day (for now) are spent doing the 8-5pm work and the hours we sleep. In other words, there isn’t much time left. For years, I’ve felt the nudging in my heart to write but I never really took that step until this year, with the birth of this site. There was a prophetic word I received many years ago. “God will use your writing.” That was what the pastor had said. He wasn’t sure how but that was the word he heard.

While I do not know how many people will be reading and actually be encouraged by the writings here, but my prayer is that this site will do just what it was meant to do…become spring for the soul.

Since I do not know how many years I have left, I made a conscious decision to spend more time reading God’s Word and do His will.

What will you do with your life?

Bible Verse

And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight.

2 Peter 3:14
