I thought that 2020 was a bad year until 2021 came along. Like many others, I thought (and hoped) that life could go back to normal but I found myself celebrating my 48th at home again, in the midst of the movement control order which just seemed like never-ending.
While 2021 is about to end, it feels like I’ve not done anything much this year except staying home and getting some house renovation done because hey, borders are still closed. I suppose it’s easy to get depressed and it gets very difficult to praise God.
Yet, we are to offer a sacrifice of praise to God. We do not praise Him because of the hard times but we praise Him because He is worthy to be praised. Praising God draws our attention back to Him. This does not mean we live in denial. Instead we remember that He is all powerful and all knowing and our lives are in His hands. We are unable to see the roadmap of our lives, but God can. We can trust that the God of the universe (who created time) knows our beginning and our end. He will see us through it all.
Let’s get ready for a greater adventure with our God. Gear up!
Bible Verse
15 Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name. 16 And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.
Hebrews 13:15-16 (NLT)
